“Distance learning” (correspondence) Screening Audiometry Course

We are pleased to advise that due to high demand, our “on site” screening audiometry course is now
available as a distance learning / correspondence course. Successful graduates of PrisMat’s
“Screening Audiometry” training program will receive a distinctive certificate of completion.

Course material:
The course consists of 8 modules, which will usually take around 15 – 25 hours to complete.
No prior knowledge is required, however, some degre prior knowledge may of course
reduce the time required to complete the modules.
All course materials will be emailed to you, and consist of a “PDF” (portable document format)
file containing the training manual, and various MSWORD.doc files, which contain the
workbook for each module.
There are also additional files which provide information about State (specific to the State you
are working in) and National regulations, Standards and codes of practice. The training manual
includes many case study audiograms to assist in the understanding of the results obtained
with a hearing test.
Simply read the module, complete the questions in the workbook, and email it back to us when
completed. Your results will then be emailed back to you with any relevant comments.

On Line Assistance:
Online assistance is available at any time (if needed) by simply emailing your trainer.
Response times are usually quite quick.
Your trainers contact details will be supplied once you have registered, and a student number
has been issued. A trainer will be allocated to you following successful registration.

Completion Certificate:
A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of all 8 modules, and the
required number of *Case Studies.
Note: *The Audiometric Procedures module requires an assessment of practical skills
(overseen by someone with Audiometric experience) which includes the provision of 5
audiograms for review, that you have performed, and the “Audiometry competency checklist” to
be completed and signed off.
Where no oversight is available, 10 audiograms can be provided for review – with no
supervisor required.
